Air Duct Cleaning Service

Why should you have your air ducts cleaned?

- Contaminated air ducts will contribute to poor air quality
- Ducts may be infested with vermin (e.g. rodents, bats, insects)
- There may be substantial visible mould growth inside hard surface (e.g. sheet metal) ducts or on other components of your cooling system
- Dust and other particles will collect in air ducts over a period of time.
- Contaminated central air handling systems can become breeding grounds for mould, mildew and other sources of biological contaminants and can then distribute these contaminants through the building.

When should you get your ducts cleaned?

Consider duct cleaning if you have:

  • A musty/foul odour when you turn on your central air conditioner for the first time
  • Occupants with allergies or asthma
  • Recently moved into a new building or completed renovations
  • Or recently installed a new central air conditioner

Maintaining indoor air quality is essential to a healthy workplace or home. Even though you can’t see what’s hiding inside your ducts, they could be housing things like mould, fungus, pet hair, construction debris, food, and other debris.

As a result, the air you’re inhaling could be unclean, and the dirt and dust will restrict your HVAC system from working efficiently. This restriction may cause you to use more energy to cool your home.

How do we clean ducts?

At Servair, we recognize the “source removal” method as the only acceptable way to properly clean and decontaminate air duct systems.

1. Pre-Inspection: A camera is introduced at convenient locations into the duct so that the condition of the duct can be observed on a monitor to assess the cleanliness of the air ducts.

2. Access ports are opened to allow the entire system to be cleaned and inspected.

3. Inspecting the system to be sure that there are no asbestos-containing materials.

4. Using the NIKRO high-efficiency particle air (HEPA) vacuuming equipment.

5. Using well-controlled brushes on duct surfaces in conjunction with contact vacuum cleaning to dislodge dust and other particles. Using only soft-bristled brushes for ducts internally lined with fibreglass.

6. Adherence to the National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA) Standards (USA)

7. Using a hospital grade cleaner, Viretron.

Why Viretron is our product of choice:

Viretron is a powerful cleaner, deodorant, fungicide and virucide that reduces and controls airborne bacteria and virus particles.

IDEAL USE: Viretron is recommended for areas where people are closely associated with extended periods of time and where there is a heavy flow of pedestrian traffic. Viretron helps maintain a clean and germ-free environment in Schools, Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Clinics, Hotels and Motels, Restaurants, Factories and Businesses with large workforces.

ADVANTAGES

-----------------

  • Controls Spread of Viruses - Viretron aids in controlling the spread of virus infections and is recommended to use when widespread outbreaks such as covid-19 are a threat. Viretron offers residual protection and is effective in suppressing reservoirs and viruses on areas such as telephones, beds and hardware.

  • Effective Disinfectant - Viretron kills germs on surfaces as well as in the air. It reduces the hazard of cross-infection by bacteria from environmental surfaces.

  • Destroys Malodors - Viretron breaks down the molecular structure of unpleasant odours while killing the bacteria that are often the cause of the malodors. This non-selective odour neutralizer acts instantly and remains effective for long periods on the most offensive malodors.

  • Destroys Airborne Germs, Viruses and Bacteria - the spread of airborne viruses and germs that cause epidemics can be drastically reduced with Viretron.
